Microsoft SQL has become a standard for many corporations around the world. It is scalable, has the ability to be clustered and is very fast. Unfortunately, the cost of ownership for Microsoft SQL is very high in both software and hardware terms. We are very fluent in this technology but find that, for most small and medium sized businesses, the costs are prohibitive. |

MySQL, currently owned by Sun, is a great alternative for small and medium sized businesses. The cost of ownership is very low, zero in many cases, is very light in its resource usage and is excellent for developing web based applications. MySQL has become the defacto standard for independent web developers and has a rich support structure, both paid and free. |

Sybase is mostly used in legacy systems and decision support tools that were developed in the 80's and 90's. While we have a good amount of experience in Sybase, the support for it is waning in the industry and is generally only used in older applications. |
